Ephesians 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
I have not had the privilege of building a house. However, a friend recently finished building a new home for his family. He shared with me a few of the challenges he has experienced with getting his kitchen cabinets installed. He also shared how his wife walked through the early construction stage of the project and wrote bible verses on studs throughout the house. It takes great care and effort to pick each element of a home. It takes great passion to add significance to a dwelling. Every detail is lovingly overseen by the occupant who will ultimate live in the house. Have you ever gone over to someone’s house and felt awkward because though you may know the occupant, you don’t know them well. We serve a God who love every detail of our personality. Any person who confesses faith in Christ becomes a member of a household which is build on the rich heritage and commitment of apostles and prophets.
